The MX-Tech valve design optimizes the relationship between shimstack & valving; The critical design
aspect coming from their "variable orifice" character. With the MX-TECH high seat pressure design used in MX-TECH valving, external adjusters become more effective (which is the opposite of the result found often with most general suspension revalves) while allowing you to get maximum control from your suspension. In Australia, ProMechA's test rider on KTM450 EXC 2006 with MX-Tech suspension front and rear installed by ProMechA, reports a bike which now "turns like a go-cart" in corners. |

The Stock WP design uses a very stiff valving
initially to control swingarm movement and reduce the KTM hinge
feeling; but the rider will feel the softer part of the shock stroke
as if slamming into a harsh wall of damping. The MX-TECH valving uses progression like a linkage, making the shock more predictable, plush, and yet controlled. With the MX-TECH needle system the shock is much softer at any given point and with each increment of travel produces a measured increase in damping force. |
